landscape painting

I am inspired by clouds formation, moody-misty skies, a glimpse of sunlight over land or sea.

When I paint a landscape, I am not trying to depict every little detail in a scene, what I focus on the most is the light, and how it fluctuates in response to everything else. Light is energy- it’s alive; moving; constantly evolving. It can have a profound effect on the overall mood of a landscape. when I’m in the field observing clouds, I also study the light and how it evolves over the course of a day – but I also take note of how the light makes me feel. Being mindful of how it makes me feel allows me to create my paintings as if I am physically and spiritually present in that landscape.
